Mothers Day

This is just a quick post to say Happy Mothers Day to my beautiful and lovely mother! I cant be with her today as I sepcifically took this weekend off work (I work back home) to stay up at uni to do assessments etc. When im at home, I just want to spend all day snuggled up with the dog watching telly with a bar of chocolate and my family which is not helpful when there's work to be done!

Anyway, hope you have a lovely day mother! I miss you and love you! Hope you liked my card and vouchers :) See you soon! xxxxxx

What next..

So this is a post about my hair and what I've done with it and what to do next! I get bored with my hair very quickly so I like to change it every few months, now I'm stuck and cant decide what to do with it. Here's my history.. Let me know what you think I should do next!

So I've had long hair all my life and used to just change the colour. The image on the left is how it has been most of my life, then I grew guts and decided to cut it into a bob about 2 years ago (image on right) after wanting to for a few years.

I then decided to man up even more and have it cut into a graduated bob (image on left) about 4 months after my bob. I had some blonde highlights done at the same time just to seperate the layers a bit more. I then went to uni about a month after that and, after realising I didnt have any money to get it cut proffesionally, cut the front off of my graduated bob myself as it was growing out and I had gone back to wanting long hair (image on right) I also died it a dark brown about christmas time as I just love the look of dark brown short hair and was bored again.

I then decided I was bored of brown hair about 5 months after that, especially as it was now getting quite long, so I died it red for the summer (left) I had that for the summer, then decided I wanted to go blonde as I hadnt done that yet! So I had a half head of highlights done just before 2nd year of uni with a brown tint to get rid of the red to get the ball rolling. (right)

I then had a full head of blonde highlights done about 8 weeks later which turned me blonde and I loved it! (left) I then decided about 2 months after that, that I wanted ombre/dip dyed hair before it went out of fashion, so went back brown and died the ends blonde at christmas (right) which I wish I had never done as I loved my blonde hair!

I've now moved my parting to the middle and have decided to grow my fringe out as I'm bored of my hair yet again! I'm just waiting for my fringe to grow out on the left so I can stop clipping it back. I'm now deciding what to do with the colour again as I'm bored of that too. I want to go back blonde as I wasnt blonde for very long but I loved it! Might give that ago soonish. What do you guys think I should do next?!

Body Shop Love etc.. Review

As you may know, it was my birthday a few weeks ago and I got given lots of beautiful goodies, this gorgeous body lotion being one of them. After using it pretty much every night since I got it I thought it was about time I told the world how much I love it!
This Body Shop lotion is light, fresh and luxurious! It smells absolutely beautiful; the bottle describes its fragrance as ‘warm and radiant’ which I agree with. If I we’re to describe it, I would says it’s quite fruity but floral at the same time, beautiful. The sent also stays on your skin for a few hours, leaving your skin smelling and looking amazing! It soaks in really quickly, without leaving a sticky residue on your skin so you can apply it just before going out if you want, or just before bed without having to wait ages for it to sink in. It really moisturises and leaves your skin feeling silky smooth even after one application! I love it!

My Friend also gave me a pocket sized tub of the matching solidperfume, which, obviously, smells the same as the lotion and it’s perfect for just carrying around in your bag. I love perfumes that have matching lotions, it means you can use both and know that you are going to smell beautiful all day long, as well as having gorgeous skin. Perfect. Body Shop really hit the ball with these two!

Trouble sleeping?

I don’t know about you but I often find that I have trouble getting to sleep, especially if I know I have to get up early in the morning. Now, my friend is an Avon representative and she often gives me their brochures to look through if I want anything. I saw this sleep therapy stuff at half price and thought I’d give it ago. And I’m glad I did! I tried the sleep therapy balm first as I wanted to actually see if it worked before I bought the rest of the range. And it really did work. Every time I apply it I find myself falling to sleep much quicker than usual! Whether its psychological or not I don’t know, but if it works, I’m not gna knock it! After finding that the balm work,ed I invested in the sleep therapy pillow mist, just to for the added help, and I found this works just as well! I tend to use the mist more than the balm as its easier and cleaner, but I team them up if I find I'm really struggling to get to sleep!
There is a slight scent to the mist which is hard to explain, but it smells nice and you soon get used to it, and once you're asleep obviously you're not going to notice it! I would definitely suggest purchasing these products if you feel you have trouble sleeping (there's also a bubble bath but I'm not a massive fan of baths so won’t be investing in that) I can’t remember how much they are but I know they were definitely purse friendly.

Review: Model Co Fibre Lash Kit

So I’ve been really busy the last few weeks as I have so many uni deadlines coming up but I’ve finally managed to find the time to try out the MODEL Co Fibre Lash 'brush on false lashes' kit I got for my birthday. Here’s my review!

I was a bit dubious of trying this Fibre Lash kit as I was worried that the fibres would just fall into my eyes, but I finally gave it a go and the results were good! What you do is apply a layer of the MODEL Co mascara in the kit, then apply a layer of the white fibres just like you would apply mascara, then apply another layer of the mascara to make the fibres black and to stick them to your lashes more.  I found that the fibre and mascara made my eyelashes look very full and so much longer! The fibres were not noticeable at all when the second layer of mascara was applied, I had to remove a few little fibres from the ends of my lashes where they had gone astray, but that was it.
The only criticism I would have of this product is that a few minutes after applying the fibres, it felt like a few had fallen into my eyes, and my eyes became a little itchy. Whether this was just paranoia because I was aware that I had fibres stuck to my lashes, or whether they actually had fallen in there I don’t know but it soon went away after a few minutes and a little bit of rubbing.
Overall, I like this product and think it works well and would definitely use it as a day time mascara, however, I will definitely be sticking to my falsies for nights out as I know that If I use the fibre mascara on a night out, I would just spend the night worrying about whether the fibres had fallen down my face. I would recommend this to anyone who wants long, thicker looking lashes, just make sure you well and truly stick the fibres to your lashes with the mascara!

My first Benefit experience: Mascara Review

I've never had/bought anything from Benefit before; I've never had the money to buy anything of theirs! For my birthday, my mum decided to give me a Benefit mascara and I was just so excited to try it, and my god I can finally see why everyone loves Benefit! This stuff is amazing! It really does what it says on the packet! My eyelashes look so much longer and fuller and just generally amazing! (I think so anyway) The mascara has a thin wand, made from silicone (I think) with thin bristles, which defines every lash, it even has a ball of bristles at the end to separate and curl your lashes. It comes out quite thin which is useful for when you only want a thin layer of mascara in the day time, then you can just layer it up for evening looks, I personally like quite thick lashes through the day as well, so I apply two layers in the morning rather than just one. To anyone who really loves thick full lashes and who maybe wears fake lashes through the day, I would definitely recommend ditching the falseies to give this mascara ago! Works wonders and really makes your eyes stand out! 10/10! Will definitely be trying more Benefit products! Love.

The Professional Beauty Show 2012

This post is waaaaay over due but I've just been so busy recently! Apologies for the lack of posts, I am going to try my hardest this week to keep on top of it! I've got lots of reviews to do this week so hopefully they will get done!

Anyway.. I went to The Professional Beauty Show last weekend (4th of March) at the ExCeL centre in London. Now, it’s meant to be trade only, but my mum works in the industry so me and my friend managed to get some cheeky passes! (Thanks mum!) It was so interesting looking at all the different ranges of products that are available! I had no idea there were so many different types of nail varnish companies! And so many do gel nail varnishes which need LED/UV lights to cure, I just thought it was CND that did that (Shellac) apparently not! Also got some free goodies: a gift bag from Clarins which is shown below, as well as a bottle of spray tan from Crazy Angle (also where I met Joey Essex!) A free pot of strip wax fromWaxxxpress and a free Bazaar magazine. Overall had a lovely day with one of my best friends and bought myself some lovely goodies at trade prices. Awesome! Would definitely recommend to anyway who is interested in the beauty industry or wanting to widen their range of beauty products!.. Bring on The Vitality Show! :)

(Reviews of some products below on there way soon)
